Send-in service
VIN, vehicle and model year are required. Part number and fault code are optional.
PHYSICAL ECU SEND-IN SERVICE
For selected locked Bosch MD1/MG1 engine control units in BMW vehicles produced from 06/2020. Send the compatible ECU to MG AutoTech; we perform the unlock and return the same unit.
- VIN required; part number and fault code are optional
- ECU unlock only — Stage 1 tuning and digital file work are not included
- Processing begins after the ECU arrives and is matched to the order
Important: The vehicle model or production date alone does not confirm compatibility. If the exact ECU family is unknown or not listed below, obtain written approval before ordering or shipping.

How the send-in service works
- Check the complete ECU type and processor. Ask MG AutoTech for written confirmation if anything differs from the list.
- Place the order with the correct vehicle model, production date and 17-character VIN.
- Pack the ECU in an ESD-safe bag and a rigid box. Protect the connectors and include the order number.
- Send only the ECU requested for this service. Do not include keys or other modules unless instructed.
- After intake and the agreed work, the same ECU is prepared for return using the shipping option applicable to the order.
What is not included
This service does not automatically include fault diagnosis, ECU repair, cloning, immobilizer or key programming, Stage 1 calibration, vehicle removal/refitting or a digital ECU file service. Any additional work requires separate written confirmation.
Information for the order
Vehicle make/model, production date and VIN are required. The Bosch/OEM part number, known fault codes and additional symptoms are optional but helpful. Do not guess an unreadable part number.
